For Josh's Graduation (Japan 2024)

This June, my family and I traveled to Japan for two weeks to celebrate the graduation of my younger brother. This past Saturday, six months after our return home, I finally put together this video to commemorate the trip:

I decided what song I wanted to use (“Both of you, Dance Like You Want to Win!”, by Shiro Sagisu, from the Neon Genesis Evangelion soundtrack) and how I wanted to edit the video (synced to the rhythm of the music) before the trip was over. I finally decided to make it because I figured out I could sync the opening ~20 seconds of musical buildup to shots I took from the window of the Shinkansen bullet train – and also, probably, because I was feeling reflective here at the end of the year.

The idea to parody the Neon Genesis Evangelion title card was a last-minute addition that tickled me.
